The maritime transportation of dangerous goods is legislated by the regulations in the International Maritime Dangerous Goods Code or IMDG Code. The International Maritime Organization or IMO provides hazardous materials regulations for shipping hazmat on cargo and passenger ships. The IMDG Code is available in two volumes.
