Special Permit Packagings can be used to ship poisonous by inhalation and pyrophoric materials in Packing Groups I, II or III by all modes of transport. The SturdeeSeal™ poison packs carry an exemption (DOT-SP-9168) that allows you to ship the following materials domestically without using a hazard class label: poisons, stow away from foodstuffs, flammable liquids, flammable solids, corrosives and dangerous when wet. The exemption packages can be used to ship materials with a specific gravity of 2.0 or less, meet Procedure 1A requirements and are accepted by UPS and FedEx as an exemption package.

The SturdeeSeal™ poison packs include an 8-oz., 1-liter, 500cc or 950cc PVC plasticoated glass bottle with Teflon®-lined cap, a full friction tinplate steel canister with welded side seam and lid; a polypropylene pouch, a fiber core for narrow mouth containers, a 4-mil polyethylene bag, polypropylene tape for cap and canister lid, double wall shipping carton with preprinted instructions, exemption number and UN markings, 3" nonasphaltic, water-activated tape to seal the carton and a copy of the DOT-SP-9168 (exemption paper).
