Alan J. Schoen
Current Responsibilities
Alan Schoen, President, directs all company operations at Labelmaster, a leader in providing products, software and services for the safe transportation of hazardous materials worldwide. Alan oversees product development, manufacturing, sales and marketing, financial management, consulting services and strategic growth. He also is a member of the company’s Board of Directors.
Experience
Prior to his appointment as President in January 2013, Alan served as the chief operating officer of various subsidiaries of Labelmaster. Most recently, he was COO of its Services division, where he managed all aspects of consulting, dangerous goods packing and software installations.
In addition to his operational duties, Alan served as chief financial officer of Labelmaster for 19 years. In this capacity, he was responsible for issues involving acquisitions of new business, growth of existing locations and all financial matters for the company.
Alan started his career with a national public accounting firm before joining Labelmaster. In addition to his accounting responsibilities, Alan specialized in working with medium sized manufacturers and distributors with computer system improvements, departmental organization and acquisition due diligence.
Education and Affiliations
Alan graduated with a bachelor’s degree in accounting business from Indiana University and immediately after graduation became a Certified Public Accountant. For 20 years, Alan has been involved with the large not-for-profit Jewish Community Centers of Chicago, holding various positions that have included executive committee member, audit committee chair and information services committee chair. He is currently a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Illinois CPA society.
