Michael J. Kaufman
Current Responsibilities
Michael Kaufman, Vice President of Production and Technology, is responsible for manufacturing, warehousing, purchasing, IT and customer service for Labelmaster. Since joining Labelmaster, he directed a large scale IT project that will include the deployment of an ERP system across the entire organization.
Experience
Michael has a background in both operations and engineering. Prior to joining Labelmaster, he worked as a production manager for the Industrial Packaging Group, then a business unit of ITW. Michael managed the day to day operations of five production lines that produced specialized packaging equipment, and was responsible for all operational activities from vendor management and internal quality to shipping. In this position, he redesigned the assembly line with an emphasis on streamline processes and work centers that significantly increased labor efficiency.
Michael also spent seven years in the company’s application engineer group, serving as a consultant to its largest customers while optimizing their packaging solutions both domestically and abroad. Michael also was the company representative to the International Safe Transit Association (ISTA) Sam's Club Test Procedure Development Program and a contributing member to ISTA 3B Package Products sub-committee.
Education and Affiliations
Michael has a bachelor’s of science in mechanical engineering from the University of Illinois, Chicago. He is certified as a Certified Packaging Professional by the International Institute of Packaging Professionals. Michael has presented at both the ISTA national conference and its field data workshop.
