Capacity in the global supply chain has been strained since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic, and that strain shows no signs of letting up—especially with the peak holiday season upon us. What role does the air cargo sector play? HazMatters spoke with air cargo specialist James Wyatt for a special, two part podcast. In part 1, James shares his unique insight into the remarkable performance of the air cargo supply chain, a look into the near future and the role of digital Dangerous Goods technology. “If you look at the estimated forecast of air cargo it's forecasted to grow in general at 9.5 percent this year and 5.6 percent in 2022, which are quite significant numbers,” he says. “I am very proud I have to say as an aviation enthusiast that air cargo is certainly still flying the flag from a supply chain capacity perspective.”
