The Lithium Battery Mark is required on packages carrying lithium ion or lithium metal batteries. These marks have space to manually designate the UN number(s) of the lithium battery or batteries you are shipping and space to add telephone contact details required by the regulations. The marking size is 100mm x 100mm and the label size is 102mm x 106mm. These Lithium Battery Marks are constructed of semi-gloss paper and sold in rolls of 500.

Please note: These labels became effective for use on January 1, 2021, but this reduced size lithium battery mark has not been officially adopted in the 49 CFR for use in the U.S due to a regulatory harmonization delay. PHMSA has issued an enforcement waiver allowing them to be used in the U.S. by any mode of transportation until officially adopted as a Final Rule.
