Shipping DG by International Air and Domestic Ground and International Waterways Dangerous Goods Training

If you ship dangerous goods by Ground, Air and Ocean, then this course is for you. The IATA/49 CFR/IMDG online training course is for shippers who prepare ground, air and ocean shipments - for road transport using the 49 CFR, for air transport using the IATA Dangerous Goods Regulations and for transport by vessel using the IMDG Code. In the United States, you must comply with the US Department of Transportation’s Code of Federal Regulations, Title 49 or 49 CFR. This interactive online course meets the minimum training requirements specified in the 49 CFR for employees shipping and handling hazardous materials.

This course takes approximately 20-25 hours to complete and will cover:

Module 1: General Awareness, Safety and Security Awareness

Module 2: IATA Dangerous Goods Regulations

Module 3: 49 CFR Parts 100-185

Module 4: International Maritime Dangerous Goods (IMDG) Code

You will experience:

• A fully interactive environment, with built-in learning checks and an assessment following each module. You must successfully complete all 4 modules to receive your certificate.
• A convenient online platform, allowing you to stop at any point and return later to where you left off.
• Easy record-keeping and a certificate of completion, which is valid for three years from the date you successfully complete the course for the 49 CFR/IMDG and two years for IATA. • Access to the course for a ninety-day period (3 months) to complete your training

Students MUST have copies of the most current editions of the IATA Dangerous Goods Regulations, the 49 CFR part 100-185 and The International Maritime Dangerous Goods Code in order to complete this course. You can purchase these publications HERE.

It is the employer’s responsibility to ensure that their employees training commensurate with their responsibilities and they may need additional training.
